Donations are being received in Andrew's name for the building of a new hospice in Winchester. Fortunately direct hospice care was not required for Andrew but if it had been, the nearest one in Southampton would have put additional strain on him and the family. The brilliant palliative care nurses who supported my father's treatment also had to travel up from Southampton whenever they came to visit.
A hospice in Winchester with its own group of specialist nurses and doctors to support the community would be such a huge benefit to local families that find themselves in a similar situation to ours and so we felt this was a very fitting cause to support in Andrew's name.
